Human Bondage

Few People write as deeply about the relationship between Masters and slaves as david stein.
Several of his memor
able essays are considered mandatory reading by trainers across America, and all of his works evolk serious thoughts about the intricate dynamics of relationships based on Power Exchange and intertwined dependence.

"Of Human Bondage: The Master/slave relationship"
is one of those moving pieces, and we are thrilled to direct folks to david's home pages at:

Having come out into s/m-leather in the mid 1970s, david stein co-founded and was a longtime leader of New York's pioneering Gay Male S/M Activists (GMSMA), for which he coined "safe, sane, and consensual s/m" in 1983.
After two Master/slave relationships that didn't work out, he put his slave heart on hold until he met Master Steve Sampson in 1997 -- while guest-editing the International Leatherman magazine issue (#14) about real-life gay Masters and slaves.
In 1999, he co-founded the gay-male chapter of MAsT in NYC and subsequently entered training with another local Master. When that, too, ended painfully after only two months, he asked Master Steve to become his Guardian. Since then, He has guided slave david and welcomed him into His family.
Articles, reviews, and stories by slave david have been published in many kink magazines and books; his essay "What slaves need" and poem "slavery is/not" are widely reposted online; and his best-selling M/s novel "Carried Away: An S/M Romance" (Daedalus) was published in 2002.
